I’ve been reading an intro to Philo that I got 75% off at Cokesbury. A great buy, and a great book as an intro to an important writer of the Nt area. I’ve had two different classes on second temple Judaism, and in the last one the prof had an interest in Philo, so I got to read some primary material. I think the second temple era is immensly fascinating, and that every minister should at least have an idea of it. I shall go forth and read Philo!
